Our services

What We Do

BONASO provides a wide range of strategic services aimed at strengthening the capacity of civil society organizations (CSOs) to deliver health services effectively. We focus on six core service areas that work together to create a sustainable and comprehensive response to HIV/AIDS and broader health issues.

About us

Our Story

Botswana Network of AIDS Service Organizations (BONASO) was founded to bring together civil society organizations (CSOs) in Botswana working on HIV/AIDS and health-related issues. For over two decades, BONASO has been instrumental in advocating for improved health policies, coordinating the efforts of various organizations, and ensuring that community-led interventions are prioritized in the national health agenda.

As an umbrella organization, BONASO provides leadership, guidance, and technical support to CSOs. By building partnerships with the government, private sector, and international organizations, we help create an enabling environment for CSOs to deliver effective HIV/AIDS services to individuals and communities in need.

OUR MISSION

OUR VISION

OUR VALUES

Our mission is to strengthen the capacity of civil society organizations (CSOs) to effectively respond to health, HIV, and AIDS through policy development, advocacy, strategic partnerships, and resource mobilization, empowering them to deliver high-quality services to vulnerable communities in Botswana.

We envision a strong CSO community leading the effort to achieve an AIDS-free Botswana by 2030, where every individual has access to life-saving HIV/AIDS services, and communities actively shape a healthier future.

  • Accountability and Transparency: We operate with openness and hold ourselves responsible for delivering measurable results.

  • Participatory Leadership: We believe in inclusive decision-making that involves all stakeholders, including communities, CSOs, and government bodies.

  • Efficiency and Effectiveness: We ensure that all our interventions are impactful, scalable, and implemented in a timely manner.

  • Gender Equality and Equity: BONASO promotes gender equality and advocates for the reduction of gender-based violence in the context of HIV/AIDS prevention and care.

  • Human Rights-Based Approach: We ensure that all our interventions respect and protect the human rights of the most vulnerable populations, particularly people living with HIV/AIDS.
